The African American Cultural Garden in Cleveland Ohio hosted their first annual Golf for the Garden event on Saturday July 19, 2025.
AACG leaders such as Executive Director Obie Shelton and past-President Carl Ewing recognized the unique landscape of the garden which made it the perfect place for people to show off their short game – putting and pitching.
Keeping with the historical and educational components of the AACG, they paid tribute to Charlie Sifford. As the interview with Charlie Sifford by Debbie Hanson was titled: Charlie Sifford. Before there was Tiger: The Jackie Robinson of Golf.
