We ran into Elizabeth at the Opera in the Italian Cultural Garden on July 26, 2026. She was wearing an outfit from the 1940s to honor the veterans and keep the history alive. She wore bright Victory red lipstick and her hat, dress and purse were from the 1940’s.
She told how the phrase V for Victory was ubiquitous. The Morse code for V is 3 shorts and a long and she said that’s the same as the opening of Beethoven’s 5th symphony. She said that the V for Victory was a form of resistance and support for the allied war effort. Watch.
