Negative Space Gallery is a non-profit located in AsiaTown Center at East 38th and Superior in Cleveland. They call it “a gallery and artist’s studio designed to show that art has the power to influence change and improve the well being and livelihood of many people. This gallery will showcase art that will raise awareness, provoke, and especially will bring hope regarding many topics which tremendously influence our well being.”
There are a variety of artists and media represented. Here are a few pieces.
We caught up with collage artist Jimmy (at right in the photo) the Director of Negative Space who told us that it was a space for up and coming artists and the entire community. Most events are 100% free. He is an artist as well – and his medium is collage. He showed us one of his favorites which he calls “Rascal Bastard”. He stressed how important it is to get people to come out and interact especially with what we lots in the Covid shutdowns. Watch the video.
